The National Basketball League (NBL) outfit are taking on the Gold Coast Blaze at their Cairns Convention Centre stadium on January 7th 2011 and the home side will no doubt be looking to continue their strong form so far this season.

Taipans fans will be happy to tell you their side have won six of their opening eight games since losing out to local rivals Townsville Crocs 79-70 in the first round of the campaign back in October.

As a result, the Cairns team are currently ranked third in the NBL ladder, behind only the New Zealand Breakers and Wollongong Hawks.

Local lovers of the sport are set to head to the Convention Centre for the arrival of the Blaze, with proceedings scheduled to get underway at 19:30 local time.

Admission starts at A$16 for Fastbreak seating, with gold and platinum packages costing A$36 and A$45 respectively.
